Una montaña puede ser muchas cosas. En su primer EP a través de Fértil Discos, Derrok encuentra sonoridades, ritmos, y hasta ruidos que, ampliando enormemente la paleta de sonidos que uno podría esperar de la electrónica orgánica (o de la referencia andina), logran generar la disparidad de climas y situaciones que caracteriza a la Cordillera. Y plasmar en simultáneo la vida urbana y el contacto con la tecnología en ese contexto. La Máquina es un EP con cuatro temas marcadamente heterogéneos, pero una temática clara y la marca indudable de uno de los productores más interesantes de la nueva escena latinoamericana.

El disco está encabezado por el single Clavelito, una mezcla profunda y bella de atmósferas electrónicas y armonías folk y la voz encantadora de la chilena Macarena Rocha reinterpretando el clasico “Canto de Ordeño” del venezolano Antonio Estevez, seguido por tres tracks instrumentales que combinan, de maneras distintas, un grupo selecto de elementos distintivos: beats claros, marcados y definidos para bailar y ser agradables para la escucha, sintetizadores y guitarras que aportan el lado analógico, y el trompe mapuche y vientos que suman para darle consistencia a la parte orgánica. La Máquina es un disco para la pista y para escuchar en casa, para la montaña y la ciudad.

A mountain may be many things. In his first Fértil Discos EP, Derrok introduces a much broader scale of sounds, full of melodies, rhythms and even noises, which exceed the expected palette of the new organic electronic music (or the Andean-inspired music) –he creates, instead, the disparity of climates and situations which characterize the Andes. And simultaneously expresses the urban life, deeply influenced by technology. La Máquina contains four tracks with deep differences among them, but nevertheless it shows a distinct idea and the evident signature of one of the most interesting producers in the Latin American scene.

The record begins with the single Clavelito, a deeply beautiful mixture of electronic atmospheres with folk harmonies and charming vocals of the chilean, Macarena Rocha, followed by three instrumental tracks which combine, in different ways, a distinctive group of elements: clear, defined beats -danceable, but also enjoyable to listen to; analog sounds of synths and guitars, and wind instruments which provide the organic side. La máquina is a record for the dance floor and the living room, for the mountain and the city.
